Jessie and Josh with The Educated Hound board and train program has changed our lives. We have struggled with our year and a half of German shepherd, Maple, since she was 5 months old. We have seen multiple trainers and even a behaviorist to try to help us correct Maple and build her confidence. Working with The Educated Hound they really understand each dog and their needs, behaviors and personalities. You can see their true passion is to help animals! Maple was reactive to people and other animals. She would bark, growl and even lunge. The SAME DAY we dropped her off, they had Maple with other dogs with zero issues. Her confidence has improved and she is a MUCH happier dog! We can even take maple to pet friendly stores (like Lowe's) with no issues! I highly recommend Jessie and Josh for training. While Maple was gone for two weeks we received lots of pictures, videos and updates! I really appreciate trainers who have great communication with their clients. Jessie is a superlative trainer! Both my son and I highly recommend working with her. Her passion for training dogs is remarkable. Jessie has a tremendous depth of knowledge along with extensive experience in a wide range of training and behavioral situations. She explains directions in a positive manner as well as answering any training or behavioral questions that Drew, or I have. Jessie has helped us with Lilibet, our GSD puppy, who is quite excitable and very curious. The training Jessie has provided has helped my son, who uses a wheelchair for mobility, be able to independently walk and work with Lilibet. In addition, to providing training to Lilibet, Jessie and her husband, Josh, installed a fence for us with the materials that we purchased. Jessie and Josh wanted us to have more positive and fun interactions with Lilibet. The fence has allowed Lilibet more opportunities to release some of her boundless energy. It has been wonderful to be able to play and work outside with her off the leash. Jessie truly cares for the dogs that she trains as well as their parents!

“Nothing we did worked until we met Jessie!”
For three years we struggled to train our Frenchie, Elivs. We took him to the dog park, to doggy daycare, and had one-on-one sessions with trainers but nothing we did worked until we met Jessie! Within hours, he was not only sitting politely as he was asked, but he was doing so right next to a cat - something we couldn’t have even imagined before! He stayed in his immersive training for three weeks and came back a completely changed dog! We no longer have to worry about friends coming over, or having to go on walks for fear of his behavior. Jessie is absolutely fantastic! We've sought her help for 2 of our pups, and she has delivered flawlessly!
Our Golder Retriever, Moose, lived up to his name, and is right at 100lbs. He had a bad habit of pulling Stella on walks, which could've turned out bad! When we reached out to Jessie, we did obedience lessons with her, and now Moose is a champ when it comes to walks, he rarely leaves heel, and if he does, it is super easy to correct!
Then comes our sweet Yorkie Raya! Raya was the biggest challenge for us, by far. Unfortunately, this cute little puppy was not doing well with potty training. We employed all our tactics, and we've never had potty training issues with our other animals, but not matter what we tried she wasn't getting it. So, of course, we reach out to Jessie and explain everything. She comes up with a course of action, and we board/train Raya with Jessie. After the training, we got back what seemed like a new dog! She gives us warnings that she needed to go out, and she is so much better now! Honestly, we were so lost with what to do about her potty training. On top of her going outside to potty, Raya is also a place queen now! When I take her to work, I can put her on place, and she'll stay in my office with no issues! We went to Jessie for the potty training but received so much more!
Jessie not only helps train your pups, but she is great at training the humans as well. She explains why she does things and makes sure that you understand your role as well. You must be persistent with your continued training, and you'll have a mindful companion for life! We're so happy we called Jessie, and you will be too!

I've been meaning to tell you how continually impressed I am by the difference in Oreo. My son has been terrified of animals since the beginning of his existence and has barely interacted with Oreo especially with how mouthy she was he would literally flinch when she walked by. Yesterday she walked past him and he reached out and pet her very naturally and unconsciously. He's been so proud that he can tell her to do something and she listens and it's been really great to watch him become comfortable with her and they are able to learn to trust each other!

My husband and I have known Jessie for 5+ years and she has trained several of my dogs. She is a fantastic trainer who knows her stuff! We have had dogs with issues that she has been able to help and make them a much happier dog and us as well since we know what they need and how to get them there. We would use her when there is ever a need to do so with no hesitation that they would be cared for in her care. Jessie has worked with both of my pups. one as a puppy who was very sweet but stubborn. She never gave up and he is now a registered therapy dog! My other guy is a 90lb rescue who has fear aggression. He was a scary guy towards others, but with much work, muzzle training and care he is much calmer and no longer tries to eat the vet! Palmer likes very few humans (less than 10). Jessie gained his trust and he loves her. you cannot go wrong working with this lovely lady. Me and my dogs give her 2 thumbs and 8 Paws up!!

“Jessie has the most patience and understanding we ever experienced with any trainer we encountered before”
For anyone wondering about training service for their adorable, but problematic fur kid(s).....hear me out! Shortly before the Covid craziness originally started, we got these 2 little rascals after contemplating for a couple of years if we had it in us to take on another adventure with 2 pups, since we had 2 adorable toy poodles that lived with us for 18 and 19 years...BIG HEARTBREAK when those 2 crossed over. Needless to say, we ended up with these 2 babies (A brother and sister). One day, Riley (boy) who is without a doubt the most dominant and boisterous of the 2, ended up jumping from the top of the stairs down to the bottom floor (yes, not using the stairs but flying in the air), thinking he is invincible! Don’t ask me why, because we are still as confused as a goldfish in a can of tuna about that one! 6 Months of surgeries later we had to amputate his 1 front leg and added another 3 months on top of that for recovery. All the while, his sister (Rosey) has been patiently dealing with his drama as well as ours in supporting her brother. So, for all practical purposes, socializing was just never a natural process to begin with. Now you would think that Rosey would be the dominant one, being all over her crazy little brother but noooooo. This little boy decided that his already inflated BIG dog ego, just had to evolve into a DINOSAUR – 3 legs and all! And trust me HE IS AS FAST A LIGHTENING! Being that he is clearly the pack leader, he wanted to tackle and take on everything and everyone that is out there and of course Rosey will just follow along with her brother’s antics. We tried everything we thought we knew. Throw in between, a relocation on top of everything, we felt it was going to be impossible to get these pups to be “normal” or even close to being socialized. Luckily, we met Jessie and from day 1, we noticed an improvement! Jessie has the most patience and understanding we ever experienced with any trainer we encountered before. She has a natural understanding and plenty of experience with problematic dogs – big or small. She is like the True Dog Whisperer! We are at a point where we can allow our friends to bring their dog into our home to join our pups, without a disaster! We NEVER thought in a million years that we would be able to do this! Make no mistake! This is not a quick fix for lazy dog owners! Swallow your pride and open yourself up, towards Jessie’s guidance. Don’t think you know better, BECAUSE YOU DON’T – that’s why you are seeking help in the first place! If you are not going to put in the time and patience to contribute to your pup’s training and allow yourself to be trained as well in dealing with different scenarios, don’t bother, because I can tell you now, WE needed the training more than the pups in understanding the signals to know how to handle it. And this is coming from us who had dogs all our lives!

I cant even tell you the difference Jessie has made by training my dog for only 4 days. As a EMT working long hours and having hardly any time or any of the knowledge to train my big girl Kora it was important to me that she had a foundation set so if I have company over she will have good manners or if she got out for any reason she would come to me when called. Jessie over delivered! Kora knew absolutely nothing but to beg for pets and now she can stay in place, sit, come when called with out me having to scream for her, and heel! I can't tell you how awesome the experience was from an overprotective dog mom to get updates and see videos to track Kora’s progress while she was away. I knew Jessie would do an excellent job and not only did she set a foundation to build on she did it in record time. Jessie is a vary gifted dog trainer she works quickly and you will never question her abilities when you meet her dogs and the ones she trains for others. Thank you Jessie for helping me and my baby find a way to communicate with each other! 20/10 would recommend!!!

I’ve known Josh my entire life. His dad and my mom have been friends since their early 20’s, which is around the same time we became true friends. I consider Josh one of my best friends on the entire planet, and who I would trust with my life. Any time he would come over, before even greeting me, he would immediately get down on the floor to wrestle and love on my family’s yellow lab Geoffrey. And if there is anyone’s opinion you can trust on any human, you can trust Geoffrey. If he doesn’t like you, then there’s something terribly wrong. But with Josh, Geoffrey would smother him with kisses and demand butt scratches and to play fetch for hours, to which Josh would always happily oblige. After I moved out and my husband and I got our own dog, we made it a point that Josh come over to meet him. Even now, whenever we chat, Josh will always ask how Geoffrey and Elric are. There are very few people on the planet I would trust with either of my dogs, but I know that if I should ever need help, Josh would be there in an instant.

Pedro is not just a rescue but he is our son. We are so honored to have been chose as his parents. His face is always smiling, I would assume it's because he gets the finest hugs, kisses and love from his humans and his 2 other doggie pals and cats. He came home of course scared and guarded but after 2 hard years of working with him he knows this is his house and he is stuck with us annoying kissy and huggie parents for good.
He is so intelligent and love to talk a lot especially when his grown parents want to watch TV. He loves his bones and loves his older sister Stella the Hound.
